About

Children in this age group are developing greater independence, creative confidence, and attention to detail. They are beginning to think more critically about their artwork while exploring new techniques and materials. Our Groovy Van Goghs have the opportunity to experiment, express themselves, and grow as artists in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Groovy Van Goghs is designed as an independent art class for students ages 10-12.

Students participate without a caregiver in the classroom and are encouraged to develop their artistic skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and confidence through a variety of engaging art projects and techniques.

At this age, students are expected to follow directions, work respectfully alongside their peers, use materials responsibly, and participate positively in a group learning environment. Projects may involve multiple steps and require patience, focus, and attention to detail.

Artistic growth often comes through experimentation, practice, and perseverance. Students are encouraged to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and develop their own unique artistic style. The focus is on creativity, skill development, and self-expression rather than creating a perfect project.

Students should be able to participate independently, manage their materials responsibly, and work respectfully in a group setting. If there is anything we should know to help your child be successful in class, please let us know at the time of registration.
